Even though it may not feel like Fall outside, we have officially entered the autumn months. The arrival of Fall means shifting patterns for the river systems. If you have an upcoming barge move during this time, please be advised of the following:
Fog
As the colder weather approaches, fog will start becoming an issue on the rivers which could mean significant delays for tows since the tugs have low to no visibility.
Wind
With all of the cold fronts making their way across the country, this also means significant changes in wind patterns. Depending on the location and time, your tow may experience significant wind related delays.
These are two major issues your project may encounter as we go through the autumn season. At Argosy, we want to make sure you are covered. We will make sure to advise you during the quoting process of any issues your project may face if moving during these months. If awarded the work, you can expect daily updates listing pertinent information as well as any delays (weather related or not).
